INTRO TO FM SCAN DATA FROM BRAINTREE, VT The following data, loggings of the FM broadcast band, were taken at two different locations in the town of Braintree, VT, in the Green Mountains, near the geographical center of the state. Entries marked (1) were only heard on the scan taken in August, 1994 from the Braintree Hill Road site (elevation approx. 457 m / 1500 ft.). This is about 90% up the south face of the hill and has good exposure to the SE, S, SW, and W. There is some blockage to the north and east. Entries marked (2) were only heard on the scan taken in May, 1995 from a higher site near the top of the same hill. The elevation at the second site is about 527 m / 1730 ft. The reception from the east is superior at this site. Entries marked (3) were logged at both of the above sites on the dates indicated. The distance between the two sites is approximately 1.93 km / 1.2 miles. Some changes between the sets of loggings at the two sites were related to call sign changes, format changes, and the activation of new stations and de-activation of old ones. The listings, arranged in order of frequency, include call letters, official station address, format, and if appropriate, slogan, pet name, or affiliated network. Skip stations are not included.
